During core hours we have specially trained volunteers who can assist patients and visitors who have a visual impairment.
Our Guiders will meet and stay with the person during their stay at the hospital and assist them when they leave.

We offer a shopmobility type scooter scheme for patients and visitors with a mobility impairment.
The scooter volunteers will assist anyone who wishes to use this scheme

Wheelchairs are also available in the main hospital reception areas to aid transportation within the hospital.
For deaf and hard of hearing patients there is information available from Tameside Interpretation and Communication Services on 0161 342 3316 or 07966 545 271 or via Minicom on 0161 342 2586/257. All wards now have a portable loop system.

As from 1st May 2012 Blue Badge holders will no longer be exempt from parking charges at Tameside Hospital.
Blue badge holders will receive an additional hour parking following the purchase of a pay and display ticket.
Pay on Foot Car Parks
Normal tariffs apply, however if you take your parking ticket and blue badge to the car parking office (located on the ground floor, Charlesworth Building), the fee will be reduced by one hour.
