The Post Graduate & Undergraduate Medical Education Department is located in Werneth House. The Medical Education Department provides an active programme of education events, of which a schedule is published on a weekly basis and mailed to all medical staff. In addition, a continuing programme of education for general medical and general dental practitioners is provided and the department hosts regional training and study days. The Medical Education Department arranges regular teaching programmes for medical students and trainees, in addition to supporting the educational progression of our consultant body. The Medical Education Department is responsible for organising the Trust induction for junior doctors during the February and August rotations. Knowledge & Library Services located in Werneth House, facilitate access to the latest evidence and “best practice” resources to enable our clinical colleagues to deliver the best and safest possible care to our patients. We ensure that our managerial colleagues also have access to similar and appropriate information resources on which to base their evidence-based practice. In addition, our team members offer expert literature searching skills and knowledge of the most useful resources.
Our services are available to all NHS staff, trainees & students based at the hospital. We are monitored closely by the NW Health Care Libraries Unit which ensures compliance with the quality standards laid down in the national NHS Libraries Quality Assurance Framework.
