Team: Paediatric Dietitians

 

What do we do?

We support children who:

  • are fussy or selective eaters
  • have a restricted diet due to medical conditions e.g. food allergies
  • require a general nutritional assessment
  • require support with weight management
  • need help to gain weight and grow
  • are fed by nasogastric or gastrostomy tubes

This support can be through:

  • Face to face appointments
  • Telephone reviews/support
  • Observing feeding at home or school
  • Assessing food diaries
  • Checking weight/growth
  • Providing appropriate dietary targets
  • Providing feeding plans for tube fed patients

Where are we based and where do we work?

We are based at Selbourne House and Rowan House in Hyde. We see children in their homes, special schools or in clinics.

Who do we work with?

We work with children aged 0-19 years registered with a G.P. in Tameside or Glossop, their families and /or carers.

How are children referred to us?

Children need to be referred by a health professional such as a G.P., Consultant, Health Visitor or School Nurse.

Opening Times

We are open from 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.  We have an answer machine for you to leave a message outside of these times.
