Welcome to the adult learning disability health service. We are a team dedicated to assist and support clients, carers and services in health interventions and promote healthy lifestyles for adults with learning disabilities.

About Our Service

We are a community based service working with adults with a learning disability 18 years and over. We offer a creative approach to health care and hold Person Centred practise as a core to our services. We can work directly with the client and /or carers to address health issues and accept appropriate referrals from all other service areas and individuals. We offer support to all involved with our client group and training where indicated to improve access to health services and healthy opportunities.

Our Expertise

  • We have a wide range of expertise in the community nursing team, behavioural support, GP liaison, hospital liaison, autism specialist, epilepsy specialist.
  • Speech and Language Therapy provides specialist support for those with communication difficulties and eating and drinking problems.
  • Physiotherapy provides treatment and support to adults with a learning disability who have physical challenges.
  • They also support clients to access community services. Advising and supporting on equipment and activity to improve quality of life and lifestyle.

We operate an open referral system and you are able to self refer via our contact information.
