Staff at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT were celebrated at the Trust’s annual staff awards event.
The Everyone Matters Awards 2019 took place on Friday 5 July at Dukinfield Town Hall. Nearly 300 guests celebrated the inspirational and exceptional work and achievements that staff at the Trust have made in the last 12 months.
There were 12 awards up for grabs on the night and 45 outstanding teams and individuals were shortlisted from a total of 270 nominations from staff. Shortlisting was done by a panel of staff including two of the Trust’s staff governors and members of the executive team.
On the night the Trust celebrated recent wins at other national and regional award ceremonies, the Health Service Journal Awards, the Health Care Transformation Awards, the Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Awards. The Trust’s nomination for an NHS Parliamentary Award was also celebrated on the night.
The first award of the night was Volunteer of the Year. This award went to Zoe Bothamley for her hard work and dedication to patients in the hospital at the end of their life. Zoe was nominated by Voluntary Services Manager, Karen Eato, who said, “Zoe has a capacity for enhancing the patient experience and sits with patients as they near the end of their life to make them more comfortable.”
Three members of staff were awarded Lifetime Achievement Award, between them they have accrued 212 years’ service in the NHS. Julie Lowther from the Trust’s Health Visiting Team, Bev Livesey, Clinical Physiologist and Manager and midwife Sue Bungaree were all awarded on the night with biographies of their careers read out during the award ceremony.
Chief Executive, Karen James said while opening the ceremony, “this is our opportunity to recognise those fantastic individuals, and teams at the Trust that go above and beyond on a daily basis.
“I hear all the time from patients and their families, comments about our wonderful staff who have been so caring and compassionate which makes me really proud to be your Chief Executive.”
