People over the age of 50 living in Tameside who may feel isolated and lonely or who may need support getting to a medical appointment can now benefit from being supported , thanks to another Big Lottery grant awarded to Fit Over Fifty, a not for profit social enterprise based in Stalybridge.
The Chaperon service that escorts people to visit the park, shopping or visit anywhere within the
Greater Manchester area, has received further funding to expand and continue the service. People can register now for their 4 FREE 2 hour outings (up to 3 hours for a Hospital visits) and all they pay is 60p a mile towards the petrol and they do need to be able to get in/ out of an average car
Visits are subject to availability, an assessment and are on a first come first served basis.
