Volunteer Dining Companion
03 November 2016

We currently have a number of vacancies for volunteer Dining Companions in our newly opened Stamford Unit in the Darnton House building, which is based on site at the hospital.

Volunteer Dining Companions will be key in supporting our patients as part of our new integrated service model. You will work alongside Trust staff in improving the mealtimes for patients who have difficulty with eating and drinking. Our patients also benefit from the socialising and befriending that takes place whilst eating.

Volunteering is open to anyone who is aged 17 and above, subject to them meeting the requirements of the NHS Employment Checks and ideally live in or close to the Tameside area.

We can offer you flexible hours of work from a few hours a week or cover meal times over several days a week, access to on site car parking, on-site staff restaurant facilities and access to our Health and Wellbeing initiatives. The hospital site is also within easy access to public transport. You will also be entitled to claim travel expenses in line with the Trust's Policy on volunteering.

We will need you to start as soon as possible.
