We are happy to announce that the results to the Annual staff survey have been published today. We would like to thank those of you who participated and can announce that the results are very positive. We have seen a marked improvement in a large number of areas. There have been no significant areas of deterioration since 2014. The Trust has scored in the Highest (best) 20% for 21 of the 32 Key Findings and there are a total of 4 areas where we scored in the Lowest (best) 20%. These are amazing results and shows the continued improvement journey here at Tameside.
Thank you for all your hard work in helping us improve the Trust. There have been many challenges over the last year and it shows that staff engagement is truly becoming a Tameside way of life and proving beneficial to how staff are feeling more engaged, more involved and positive which as we all know is a really good thing for patient care.
The Trust performed well in a number of areas– the biggest improvement being in the percentage of staff/colleagues reporting most recent experience of harassment or bullying or abuse. If people are reporting issues that is a good thing as the more staff who report on issues the more we are able to address them in the future. The results also show that staff are more satisfied with their responsibility and involvement at work and there is a higher percentage of staff who feel they are able to contribute towards improvements at work. It has also been noted that there was increased recognition and value of staff by managers and the organisation. There has also been an increase in the percentage of staff reporting good communication between senior management and staff.
Our staff engagement score puts us as one of the best in Greater Manchester!
