As you may have seen in the news, Junior Doctors are planning industrial action this week. This action will run for 24 hours, from 8am on Wednesday 10th February until 8am on Thursday 11th February.
Plans are in place to provide emergency and urgent care. Our first priority is always to ensure that patients who come into our hospitals as an emergency or for urgent treatment will be seen and treated as quickly as possible.
Patients will be contacted directly today or tomorrow if their care has to be postponed and rescheduled. So if you do not hear from us, please attend your appointment as planned.
We would like to reassure patients that the main consideration for everyone here at Tameside Hospital is to deliver safe, high quality care. We are working on robust plans to protect the safety and welfare of patients.
Patients and the wider public can also help us to ensure that we continue to operate as effectively as possible during this busy period, by choosing the right service for your needs. If you’re not sure if it’s an emergency or which NHS service you need, please call 111 for advice.
