Tameside Hospital is hosting an outdoor community open day on 21st September 2014. The event starts at 11am and will run through to 3pm in the afternoon.
The Open Day will be a day of fun, information and entertainment playing host to over 35 exhibitors from healthcare services within the hospital as well as partner organisations, including: the police, fire service, army field hospital and many more. A DJ will entertain throughout the day with stage acts including a local dance group and brass band. There will be fun things to do for children from rides and colouring through to free ice cream. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits for the grown-ups and for those wanting food the hospitals staff restaurant will be open to everyone throughout the day serving hot and cold snacks.
The 207th (Manchester) Field Hospital will be attending with a Battlefield Ambulance. Final arrangements are also being made to recreate a WWI field hospital on the day for everyone to see as part of the WWI centenary.
Karen James, Chief Executive “We are really proud to be holding our first Open day at Tameside Hospital. It will be a day of fun and information for the whole family. As we serve a community of 250,000 people across Tameside and Glossop our Open Day is the perfect opportunity for the local community to come and see what services we offer, look inside an ambulance, chat to some of our staff and have some fun and learn some fun health facts as well.”
This will be a great day for families to see some of the great work Tameside Hospital has been doing over the last 12 months and a chance to see what services are on offer. Come along on 21st September and see for yourself what changes have been made in the last year. This event is being funded by the National Lottery Fund.
