Celebrating Our Nurses at Tameside
14 May 2014
MONDAY (12 May) was International Nurses’ Day, a time to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our nurses and also raise awareness of the work of nurses and their colleagues all around the world.
Since 1965, the International Council of Nurses has celebrated International Nurses’ Day on May 12th as it is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, who is widely seen as the founder of modern day nursing.
International Nurses’ Day gives everyone a fantastic opportunity to stand up and shout about what nursing means to us. We are celebrating by sharing patient stories to celebrate the positive impact that a nurse can have for people during difficult times of their lives.

Also, to help us Tameside Hospital celebrate International Nurses' Day, we kindly received a donation of fruit for every ward from local fruit wholesaler Mat Jones.
