As well as brews, biscuits and good conversation, visitors were able to take part in fundraising activities including raffles and a tombola. There was also a group relaxation session facilitated by Patricia Cooke
Susan Robinson, Macmillan Cancer Nursing Services Co-ordinator, said: “We had a great turn out and the lovely buffet provided by Mr. Mann and his team was enjoyed by everyone. The £200 which was raised will help fund the Complementary Therapy Service for cancer patients.”
On the first and third Tuesday of each month, from 10am to 12.30 pm, the Macmillan Team run a drop in session at Tameside Hospital where patients can get advice on their condition, what support is available to them, welfare rights, access complementary therapies, group relaxation sessions and buy and learn how to style headscarves if they have lost their hair during treatment.
