NHS Heroes at Tameside Hospital celebrating being recognized for their hard work and dedication
20 December 2012

The hospital’s Chief Executive Christine Green paid tribute to all the staff who were named NHS Heroes in the 2012 national NHS recognition scheme.

More than 50 staff from throughout the hospital were nominated by members of the public or staff for going that extra mile and all received a certificate of thanks.

The NHS Heroes awards is a new national initiative and is an opportunity to thank those staff that have demonstrated extra care, above and beyond the call of duty.

HR Director David Wilkinson said: "All our staff make a difference to people’s lives every day and many go above and beyond to deliver a bit extra. These awards are about formally recognizing those staff and thinking them for their hard work, passion and dedication. These are the people who make the NHS great."
