Mums-to-be get video stardom

The seven-minute clip aims to promote Tameside Hospital’s maternity unit and its services, showing what people can expect if they choose to have their babies at Tameside.

Mum Tracy Thorley of Ashton appears on the new video, saying she was sad to leave the hospital after having a really good experience when she had her little girl.

Speaking on the video she said:  “With it being my first baby I was really nervous about the birth and the care and didn’t really know what to expect. I had my own room at the hospital and my own privacy which was nice. Every single midwife was lovely. I was sad to go home actually.”

Head of midwifery Lesley Tones said: “We wanted people to see and hear what our services are really like and why our maternity unit is so special. So we asked real women to tell us what they thought. They were really keen to take part and
