Important patient announcement about A&E

We are currently experiencing high levels of demand in the Emergency Department, resulting in extended waiting times and anticipate that this will continue for the remainder of this week. If your condition is not an accident or an emergency, we would ask that you please consider alternative services to support you such as your GP, walk in centre or local pharmacy.

We will be treating patients in priority order. This means that those patients presenting with less urgent conditions can expect to experience a prolonged waiting time. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause, however we are directing resources to the most seriously ill patients in the department.
